This week I am participating in the 15th International Workshop on the Identification of Dark Matter at L’Aquila! I am thrilled to present the Underground Argon Cryogenics System of DarkSide-20k at this important conference. My poster contains the main results of a paper on that topic which is currently under Collaboration-internal review. Looking forward to this exciting event!
The Summer collaboration meeting took place at LNGS from 10–14 June. I presented two topics: Simulations on the distribution of internal calibration sources in the active volume and the results from the mockup cryogenics test at LNGS.
This week we had a Collaboration Meeting at GSSI in L’Aquila, Italy. I presented the progress on the cryogenics test within the Mockup programme and gave an update on the UAr Working Group activities.
In the week of 12–16 June, the collaboration came together for a general meeting and progress review at LNGS. I had the opportunity to present the measurement prospects with the Mockup detector which will soon start operations, and I could engage in fruitful discussions on cryogenics-related aspects. It was also inspiring to see the exciting progress on the installation of the warm structure of the cryostat underground.
The DarkSide collaboration met between 15th and 18th November at GSSI in L’Aquila, Italy, for a general meeting. We had many productive discussions and it was great to see everyone again.
The utility model for the levelling system developed for Xenoscope at UZH is now visible online under the file number DE 20 2021 101 412 U1. This mechanism allows for a precise, almost force-free horizontal fine-adjustment of high mass assemblies. I developed it during my PhD with input by my colleague Frédéric Girard. In depth searches by both the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, and the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property indicate its novelty.

From 3rd to 7th June, we had a very productive collaboration meeting at Pula, Sardinia. I finally met the collaboration members and really enjoyed it. I got the opportunity to present my preliminary CFD studies of the fluid flow of the inner detector.
I am attending my first in-person conference since 2019. Today I will present my work on the Xenon W-value during the fundamental measurements session in beautiful Coimbra! The slides can be found here.
I was invited to give the Science Club Seminar of the XENON/DARWIN collaborations on our publication A measurement of the mean electronic excitation energy of liquid xenon, Eur. Phys. J. C 81, 1060 (2021). This is the second invitation after my online INPA seminar at LBNL Berkeley on this topic.
